We took a ferry to the South Island (6 hours total) then drove 2.5 hours. Nice views on the ferry ride and now looking forward to exploring the South Island.
On our drive up to Waterford,CT we listened to Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, then made a stop in Sleepy Hollow to visit the old church and cemetery from the book. Had a wonderful lunch at Sails, which overlook the T- Z Bridge . Finished the day with another great seafood meal at Fat Tuna and stroller around at Harkness Memorial Park
It was an awesome tour for our last day in Melbourne. We had stunning views of a rocky coastline with very strong waves today. We then took a short walk in a rain forest. Afterwards, we were able to spot Koalas and Kangaroos in the wild. We met many wonderful people on the tour and our guide Chris was excellent. Everything about this trip went smoothly, it truly was a trip of a lifetime.
Well who knew that the First Grand Prix race of the season will be in Melbourne on Sunday? The city is hopping with festivals, fan zones, concerts, etc…. It took us a little bit to get oriented as numerous transit modifications were in play, but we succeeded.😁👍. Walked around the Queen Victoria Market and then headed to Flinders Station where all the action was happening. It sits along the Yarra River with a park and walking trails along the river. Nancy and I are now members of the Williams Race Team so we could join the fan club activities. Also took a stroll along Hosier Lane which is famous for the street art.
Love the pictures and what great travel partners.
