Lake Wanaka from all angles

In the morning we hiked at Lake Diamond Track, which gave us views of both Lake Diamond and Lake Wanaka. As we were driving back we found another short hike that took us along the other side of the lake. Not sure if the pictures will do it justice, showing how clean and clear the water. Ended the day by chilling at the beach.

Started the day at Waitomo Glowworms Cave, couldn’t take pics in the cave, but it was pretty cool. Our next adventure was a treetop hike among the Redwoods, 22 suspension bridges in all, followed that with a hike through the same on the forest floor, last adventure for the day was a geothermal park, Hell’s Gate.

Westbrook Winery and Taylor’s

Had a wonderful first day in NZ. Both flights went smoothly, even was able to get some decent sleep on the plane. Nancy did a wonderful job driving us to the Taylor’s home, where we were treated like royalty. Took us to Westbrook Winery and then a delicious dinner of mussels and prawns.
